mOhan ki muraLiya bAje . . .

I was excited to receive a notation request for “mOhan ki muraLiya bAje” from the movie “mELA”. This is a beautiful vintage song composed by Naushad. Please note that although I have tried to make the notations as detailed as possible, you can always enhance it through the unique nuances that your instrument can bring out.

Original scale: G# (G-Sharp will be chosen as the "Sa" or 's' in Indian notation)

Notes used in this song: (Keys and their corresponding swara name):

The Blue colored notes represent the top “Sa” and the notes above it. Also notice the n* which is the small “Ni” that happens only rarely in this song.

I have changed the row order to Indian swaras - Lyrics - Western notes, as suggested by some. Underlined notes move in double the speed. [An e.g. that can explain this is: The length of “p - d p” and “p-dp p-dp” are the same]

Hothon se Choo lo tum

This classic from the great Jagjit Singh is one of my favorites. Again I remind you to request your favorite song - that I think is the best way we can have a good collection of songs here.

Original scale: F (F will be chosen as the "Sa" or 's' in Indian notation)

Notes in this song: (Keys and their corresponding swara name):
Western KeysEFGABCD
Indian Swarasn2sr2g2m2pd2

If you don't understand what these notes or notations mean, please refer: Notation Basics

The row for lyrics is followed by the rows for western and indian notations respectively, and the pattern continues until the end of the song (The row pattern is Lyrics-Western notes-Indian swaras).
